Not 1, but 3 Event Technology Awards for our HPE Discover app!

Multi award winning apps from Intergalactic & Eventbase are the perfect partners for HPE’s Discover London Event

HPE’s annual Discover Event showcases how Hewlett-Packard Enterprise (HPE) and their partners thrive in the Idea Economy – delivering innovative IT solutions that accelerate change, harness data, manage risk, enable agility and empower workforce productivity. With over 14,000 industry leaders expected, the Event App needed to be every bit as innovative as its attendees.

Sister companies Intergalactic and Eventbase, specialists themselves in translating ideas into enterprise-grade event-tech solutions, were the ideal choice to deliver on HPE’s vision. Given their combined expertise, it’s no surprise that the resulting work was recognised at this years’ Event Technology Awards winning three major awards; Best use of Technology for Engagement, Best use of Technology for a Brand and Best Proximity Marketing Technology.

Previously HPE had expert ambassadors provide tours of their new and innovative IT solutions at the Discover Event. Whilst highly engaging for the tour participants, many attendees were unable to join these tours, due to their fixed schedules and locations. HPE’s objective was to increase delegate engagement and create a personalised and enhanced experience for attendees, as well as providing a digital substitute that would do away with the limitations of the classic guided tour.

Using a pair of highly innovative mobile apps, attendees could plan their schedule, discover relevant content and highlights, as well as find their way around the massive exhibition covering almost 250,000 sq ft at London Excel.

The Tour App included five self-guided audio tours in four different languages. Visitors could select the tour of their choice and be guided every step of the way with a visual routed map receiving audio and text content automatically as they arrived at each waypoint.

The mapping and wayfinding was based on HPE’s own Aruba indoor location and routing technology and utilised over 800 Aruba beacons, the largest deployment of such technology at an enterprise event.

The Apps were a huge success – achieving record downloads and demonstrating a massive increase in engagement metrics. As a result, HPE was able to improve visibility for sponsors, demonstrate increased value and gain valuable insights into attendee preferences for optimising future shows.
